The first thing I noticed about the Nesco FD-75PR 700-Watt Food Dehydrator is it has a simple, fuss-free design. With so many different models around, I’m glad I found one that works wonderfully despite its minimal design. It comes with 5 trays, a recipe book, 2 mesh sheets, 2 solid sheets, and 3 jerky spice packets. I’m surprised that it came with so many add-ons; considering that I paid less than $52 for it! It makes the whole process of food dehydrating a delight.

1. Good temperature control
It comes with a thermostat that allows you to control the temperature. You can go anywhere between 95 to 160 degree Fahrenheit and that’s a perfect range for all the food that you can dehydrate. With this dehydrator, I can dry beef jerky in hours (not days).

2. Easy to use
It’s also easy to use and clean. There’s no need to rotate trays because this is a smart dehydrator that gives you even heating. The top-mounted fan makes cleaning a breeze and I’ll never have to worry about liquids from food dripping into the fan or heat chamber.
3. Very reasonable price
I wished the Nesco FD-75PR 700-Watt Food Dehydrator came with a timer (maybe that’s something Nesco can consider?) but for less than $52, I’d say this is overall an excellent machine. Food turned out great and the whole dehydrating process only took hours. I’d recommend this to those who’s looking for a value-for-money product.

Powerful is the word to describe the Nesco American Harvest FD-1010 Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator. Imagine you can dry jerky in mere 4 hours! I’m impressed by the exceptionally quick drying. With this model, you can dry more food in a shorter period of time. Nesco claims this to be their “top of the line” unit and I agree with them!

1. Very quick drying with 1000 watts
When I first came across this Nesco American Harvest FD-1010 Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator, the terms “1000 watts” jumped out at me! I thought to myself, “I’ve got to get this!” And so, I bought this from Amazon the next day. I know I’ve already said I’m impressed; but I still am impressed after using this for almost a year. For times when I felt like making jerky in large batches (usually during festive seasons as gifts), I’d use this model. Fruits and vegetables also dry in almost half the time; what a pleasant joy to work with this dehydrator!
2. Great for dehydrating large quantities of food
Besides jerky, I can dry large fruit quantities for the local kids’ book club that I oversee. The kids just light up when they see the assortment of fruits I bring; everything from peaches and apricots to bananas and berries. It’s also a healthier snack alternative for them and parents have been asking me how to make the same fruit snacks. I’ll surely recommend Nesco American Harvest FD-1010 Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator to them!
3. No need for tray rotation
Nesco takes pride in incorporating uniform food drying function in all their dehydrators. This model is no exception because I have no problem with food drying. I don’t have to rotate the trays like other models have me doing.

Pronouncing Nesco American Harvest FD-61WHC Snackmaster Express Food Dehydrator is a mouthful indeed. Imagine recommending this to your friends! But I insisted on reviewing this product because it’s a really good dehydrator- nothing short of great. Nesco is one of the best brand choices for food dehydrator and I really enjoy using their products, including this model. Here are 3 things I think of this model:

1. Dehydrates vegetable, fruit, and jerky very well
The radial air flow system goes down the center of unit and across each tray, giving quick and uniform drying. I’ve used this to dehydrate mainly fruits (banana, apricot, apple, and berry) and each batch turned out wonderfully. My mum owned the same model and she told me it does jerky and vegetables really well too.
2. Very easy to clean- no mess at all
I find dehydrators with top-mounted fan really easy to clean after. I just use some liquid detergent and sponge to wash the different parts and let dry. Then, I’d keep it in a cool and dry place (Nesco American Harvest FD-61WHC Snackmaster Express Food Dehydrator usually sits on my countertop). With the convenience and ease of use, I feel like dehydrating SOMETHING, whatever it is, every time I look at it!
3. Comes with a complete kit
With 5 trays (expandable up to 12 trays), a jerky kit, 2 clean-a-screens, 2 roll-up trays, and a recipe book; this set is as good as it gets! I have been trying some of the recipes in the guidebook and I’m delighted at the results. My family enjoys the food this dehydrator churns out!

The Nesco FD-80 American Harvest Square-Shaped Dehydrator offers additional space for drying (up to 41% as claimed by manufacturers) and by estimation I think it’s true. I do get more room compared to round models. Like I’ve mentioned in 5 Quick Tips on How to Choose the Best Food Dehydrator, shape is closely related to size but this is a matter of preference. If you are preparing family-size snack portions, then there isn’t obvious difference between both. That aside, here’s what I think of this model from Nesco:
Nesco FD-80 American Harvest Square-Shaped Dehydrator
1. Easy to set food with large, square drying space
Regardless of size, it’s easier to arrange food on a square tray. I can set jerky easily and fruits look great when arranged on this tray.
2. Hassle-free: no need to rotate trays
Even without rotating trays, food dries evenly. I think this is attributed to the smart technology where air is pressurized down the outer ring and across each tray. The thermostat also offers accurate temperature control, which is plus point (I’ve used models where thermostat don’t work as accurately as claimed). A little point that Nesco can improve on: please install an on/off switch! I have to unplug the unit to turn it off every time. I didn’t mind at first but it gets a little inconvenient over time.

Food dries well within hours. Actually, with the improvement in various models, I don’t think I expect anything more than hours (if it takes days, you should get yourself a new dehydrator). I’ve made jerky batches and sent them to my sister. She loved them!
